Methods of Paragraph: Narrative
COLLIFE
By: April Joy F. Bolodo
Is the word collife new to you? Well,
this is just a combination of the two words “college and life”,
to mean college life. Presently as a student, do you find this life
interesting? Then, today you will know a life story way back three years ago in
a solitary place in Tagum City.
After stepping the second stairs of
success Joy come to decide that she will follow the direction where her sister
was called to be in the Seminary. This
is a place where anyone neither contemplates nor isolates themselves from other
people. A place where everyone thinks that people who stay there were just,
holy and blameless. But it’s not! They are sinners too since, they
did sin. A person who gives too much expectation will be disappointed and become
stumble. One time, Joy met a friend whose name was Bella. She is a good chum in
fact, they are always together. When Bella got sick, Joy will be the one who
will take good care of her. Waking her up in the middle of the night is
securing that she drinks the medicine. Every week, they are going to the mall
strolling, eating and roaming around just to enjoy life outside. Because of
their closeness, they make a vow that “no matter what will
happen friendship will be forever”. Every night, they
both study the Bible & brainstorm what they have learned. They pray
together, talked together, and sometimes quarrel each other. Which I believe
that, strong friendship will be built. Sharing of secrets, crushes and burdens
are the routine they gone through. Like the companionship of David and Jonathan
that sticketh together as brothers. It was March 2012, when Joy reached the gems
of success as a graduate of (BACHELOR OF RELIGIOUS EDUCATION). Overwhelming
happiness with a mixture of a little bit of sadness arouse. Knowing that Joy
will continue her studies as a future educator someday. This is to mean that
she will be far from her. As the years passed by, Joy becomes busy doing her
research, practice in P.E, and etc. No communication at all. It was out of the blue, when Joy visits her
at their school. No smile from her. And her face looks like a sickly flowers
that are going to be withered. A heavy rain & a mighty thunder came over
after they talk. It was so painful
hearing unhealthy words uttered from Bella’s mouth. You’re
no longer my best friend, you’re not true. From now on, don’t
dare call me best she spoke. Her rejection causes too much pain. Oh! Why God is
allowing this to happen? Well, everything happened for a reason. Now, to cover the hurt feelings she just
always keep silent, smile for a while, and laugh with other friends that seems
nothing happened. Hence, God is good all the time! It was her birthday when she
was astonished with the best gifts coming from the Almighty Father. A full-packed
of a loving family, true pals, close chums and best of friends that Joy never
thought there were still people like them. In our life’s
journey friends creates great history. Either to teach a lesson nor becomes
part of our motivation. Thus, we have to remember that, “Friendship
is not about pledge or any written document instead it’s
a promise based on (VAT) value and trust that is registered in the heart. No
penalties, no compromises just pure goodwill and love.
As of now, Joy continues to pursue her
studies at University of Mindanao by the grace of God. Her life turns another
page, another chapter and another path to take every single day.
